Notices were issued in February to individuals linked to the premises, but there was no response, leading to the enforcement action. , ,According to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the total outstanding amount stands at Rs 82. 91 lakh.

This even after factoring in rebates offered under the One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme, which remains valid till March 31. ,The property was earlier used as a private office and classified under the commercial category, resulting in a higher tax burden.

,Jayalalithaa's nephew, Deepak Jayakumar, had earlier approached civic authorities requesting that the property be reclassified as residential. He claimed the building has been used as a residence since 2017.

However, with dues still unpaid and no compliance from the concerned parties, GHMC officials have gone ahead and sealed the premises.
